Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. In her early Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in more than 100 years. Ashford appeared for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin as well as Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Also, she has performed in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
